Sculptors' Group Meeting On October 4, 2011

Three-dimensionoids,

Our guest presenter for the Sculptors' Group meeting on October 4 (7:00 pm at the Guild Bldg.) will be none other than our beloved man of clay, David Bradley. David will be discussing and demonstrating his techniques for bas-relief.

As usual, please bring your work, whether in-concept, in progress, or completed for a members critique.

Finally, our roundtable discussion topic will be "Which sculptor do you find most inspirational?" If possible, bring a photo of one of her/his creations.

See you then,

Matt

Sculpture Class with Peter Rubino

The following was passed on by Mark Cohen.

Taun Olsen has arranged for Peter Rubino to give a 3-day figurative sculpture class in his studio (Shea near 130 St) Oct 15-17. So far, there are only 5 signed up. Peter will do the class for 6 or more. I've taken 3 classes with Peter at the Scottsdale Artists School, and I can't say enough good things about them. The opportunity to be in a small class (6 or 7) will be fantastic. I've been in classes with 6, 12 and 15, and the individual attention in the small group is hard to match. For more information, Taun's number is 602-3989.

David L Bradley Art Exhibit at Eye Lounge

I want to invite everyone to my upcoming exhibitions at the Eye Lounge in Phoenix. September 16-October 15. Eye Lounge is located at 419 E Roosevelt, and is part of the First Friday gallery walk in Phoenix.
I will have two exhibits in the gallery. In the west gallery I will display six multimedia sculptures of well known figures who have ascended to the level of earthly gods. The title of that exhibit is Vox Populi-The People Have Spoken. In the Project room at the rear of the Eye Lounge building I will show a narrative drawing of two near death experiences I had 30 years ago. The drawing will be on all four walls of the gallery room.

On the First Friday in October, the 7th, I will perform with Brett Reed, percussionist, a multi sensory collaborative performance involving wet clay, and big sounds. This performance will take place at 7pm in the lot adjacent to the Eye Lounge.
Thanks,
David
