The purpose of this blog is to share with members and followers news and events relating to Sculptors' Group meetings. Members of the Sculptors' Group are welcome to post to the blog comments, questions and suggestions for how to improve the group.
If you are a sculptor, or if you are just interested in the subject of sculpture, we hope you will join us. Meetings are held year round, excepting during the summer. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month. At each meeting there are expert speakers giving presentations on their sculpture process, materials, techniques and inspirations. Dues are $40 annually and include membership in the Arizona Artists Guild.
Current President of the Sculptors' Group is Matt Werner. His email address is matt.werner@aecom.com.
Please keep comments on topics related to sculpture, and keep comments respectful.

Thanks for starting this, David!
ReplyDeleteIf you have an interest in sculpture, you must join this group. The meetings have a great program presented by a sculptor. All the programs I have attended have been very informative and helpful. After the formal program there is an informal discussion of work that members bring to the meeting.
ReplyDeleteThis group has more character (and characters) than any group I have ever belonged to.
I especially like how Matt keeps the meeting on track and organized. The meetings are both entertaining and very educational.
Mark Woehrle
All, if you are interested in a carpool to the May meeting at Ball Consulting, please respond here and if you are willing to be a driver, please confirm. We'll meet at the AAG building to head down to Ball Consulting together. Two of us are looking for a ride; Connie McBride and Mark Woehrle...and Matt Werner has offered to be a driver. Given the meeting is at 7PM in Tempe, I would suggest meeting at 6:15(?) unless you think otherwise.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Another comnment - I agree with Mark Woehrle...I've only been attending the meetings this past year and I've gained a wealth of knowledge in a very a short time; sharing work and getting/receiving advice has been very rewarding; guest speakers have been varied and interesting and visiting others studios is really helpful!
